saving the world, with one leg and a magnet.

gosh, it's been ages and ages since i wrote here...

so much has happened since then. woah.. fovea hex played in trentino on a massive mountain which was the highest up I've ever been, apart from a plane... at was so beautiful!

here we got to see our moon, through a massive telescope and also Jupiter and four of it's moons too!!! incredible!

fovea hex also played at the electric picnic which was so so much fun. we were on the IMC stage on the first night which was great because the whole weekend was free from then on to do, see, go wherever and whatever we wanted!
highlights for me had to be silver apples, leila arab, my bloody valentine.. ermmm.. can't remember others now.. it was an AMAZING weekend though!

so, moving on... i decided about a week or so ago that i would try and make a little movie a day (or even just visuals of any sort really) and it's been pretty interesting. the first day i attemted it i managed to record enough footage for two little music videos, one of which i'm still editing and the other of which you can see here...

i decided to let myself off the hook as far as perfectionism goes. i just wanted to churn out as much stuff as i had ideas for without bogging myself down with trying to make everything 'perfect' which is what usually happens. that way i never get to do as much coz you make yourself stuck.

the next day i did quite a bit too, but i ended up just using all the video footage to make still frames and edit them as photo's. the third day i didn't come up with anything good.. but then the next day after that i had a lovely idea.. where i would try and recreate things to look like i was back in time or something. starting way way back. so i did some filming and i needed to put the camera sideways so i could get a length shot that would fit me in. thinking i had an option to rotate the footage in the editing stage, i went ahead and filmed the whole thing like that. but alas... it is not so.
in the end some of the stuff was quite good but i used most of it for still images because i could rotate it in film format. urghh...
but here are some examples..

tomorrow night myself and two friends are heading out to the woods, and a beach at night with a generator and a lot of various lighting stuff.. and shooting some footage there. i think it will be wonderful. i have a surprise up my sleeve which i think is going to be very exciting to work with!

also, i finally got my studio up and running again last night, so i have been drowning myself in sound all night and morning which has been oh so refreshing!
i have a week off from work so i think it's going to be a fruitful time.

that's all for now...

all the best

the sun is here! i simply must RECORD!

I continued the recording for my album today with a slightly more abstract approach. I am working on a song called "I am just a tiny thing (living in a world of big things)" and this song really needs to be recorded as in was written, outdoors beside some water.

I am in the middle of nowhere in the south of france at the moment visiting my family and although they have been frozen for the mast few months (up
in the mountains) i decided to bring my equipment for the visit - just in case! to my luck, and surprise today it hit 21 degrees!! yummy yummy.... out i went, all my leads, my boxes, my laptop, my mic, my camera and my little sister and off i went (there is a beautiful babbling brook in the garden).

I
got just what i needed to get done, done - i will sleep well tonight!

I have also been working on some merchendise ideas, and have worked on the bones of some earings and skirts. I am restricted here to a certain degree since i have none of my own materials, but when i get home i'll be straight into it. I'll keep this thing updated with pictures and stuff.

a little preview..
